The Importance of Self-care and Partner Care


We recommend that you take your self-care seriously. Your health and well-being are vital to your child developing in a healthy environment with appropriate boundaries.

Remember that your child already experienced trauma. Maintaining a calm and secure environment is almost as important as the trusting relationship you build with your child. Partners sometimes part, but children need to have at least one protective adult in their life.

Take time for yourself and for your relationship. Investing in a healthy life for yourself will benefit your child.
