Bear Necessities

A Support Program for Mesa County Foster Children

Bear Necessities.png

Children who come into the care of the county often times come with few or no belongings. They are frightened and feeling like their lives are beyond their control. Those children are invited to shop for some personal items in the Bear Necessities Closet.

Bear Necessities accepts items for children ages o through 18, sizes newborn through adult. Please donate new items only.

Some suggestions are:

  • Suitcases

  • Clothing for all sizes

  • Pajamas, coats, and jackets

  • Shoes

  • Twin or crib size bedsheet sets and blankets

  • Hairbrushes, facial soaps, and acne care products

  • New car seats (all-in-one)

  • Individual size snack items such as crackers, cookies and chips

  • Toys

Items can be donated by dropping them off at the Mesa County Department of Human Services, 510 29 1/2 Road, Grand Junction.

Please attach your name and address, so we can acknowledge your gift.

If you have any questions about what to donate, please contact our Foster Parent inquiry line at (970) 248-2794.
